The Benefits of Using an Electric Toothbrush

Whether you’re a manual toothbrush user or an electric toothbrush user, have you ever wondered which one is actually better for your teeth? Don’t worry, we have the answer (and the solution!).

Not one to blow our own trumpets, as it turns out, dentists are in agreement that an electric toothbrush is, in fact, better for your oral hygiene. Interestingly though, not just because it’s electric and it simply should clean your teeth better. It’s all about the routine, but there are a few facts which may convince you that electric is best:

1. It removes plaque much better and faster

There’s no doubt about it – an electric toothbrush is more efficient than a manual will ever be. Why? Because of the higher number of strokes per minute – the Ordo brush is 25,000spm FYI.

    2. You can clean hard to reach areas

OK, so this could be tossed that it’s’ how you brush but electric toothbrushes come with more ergonomic brush heads. Whether it’s oval or round, you will be able to easily get to hard-to-reach areas of your mouth, such as back of your molars.

      3. Built-in timers

Now, this is actually one of the best features of an electric toothbrush. Did you know that most of the people brush their teeth only for 48 seconds? That’s way too short. The recommended time to brush, by dentists, is for at least 2 minutes, every morning and evening. It’s pretty handy that the Ordo brush has a 2-minute timer built-in as standard, eh?

And what’s more, our brush vibrates every 30 seconds to let you know it’s time to move to another quadrant (that’s area, FYI) of your mouth. Top, bottom, left and right – no skipping!

      4. It’s comfortable to hold

It’s not uncommon that electric toothbrushes are bigger than manual ones. This is a conscious design decision as to make them more comfortable to hold during your brushing routine. Here at Ordo, we’ve worked with the best product designers to ensure our brush is not only stylish but ergonomic too. It’s a daily necessity – it has to be both.

      5. It makes ‘brushing too hard’ impossible

This is probably the most important thing about electric toothbrushes and that’s what makes them much better than their manual counterparts. As we said before, it’s all about the brushing routine. Therefore, if you’re constantly brushing too hard with a manual toothbrush, it can end up wearing away your teeth’s enamel. Ultimately leaving them more vulnerable to decay. With an electric brush, it makes it practically impossible to brush too hard as it does most of the hard work for you.

Ultimately, it’s a personal choice but we hope we’ve helped illustrate the benefits of an electric toothbrush. Why not trial the Ordo starter pack for just £30? Check it out here.
